This is an ongoing major project, the full renovation of a house with serious damp problems in Gellilydan which is a village near to Blaenau Ffestiniog in Gwynedd
It involved stripping out perished and cracked, soaking-wet lath and plaster along with removal of internal walls and renovation of an inglenook stone fireplace.
Because of the serious penetrating damp on some walls a specialist company undertook chemical injection proofing into some walls which we followed up by rendering in damp-proof concrete (tanking) ready to accept a finish.
Other walls were conventionally plastered and the internal stud walls rebuilt, plasterboarded and finish coated.
The large stone-built inglenook fireplace is now a feature in keeping with the property that we’re all pleased with.
Currently we’re off the project whilst the electricians and plumbers are doing their work and plaster dries out etc.
